Add specified increment to existing file number

Postby KHL » Wed Mar 22, 2006 11:34 am

Jim,

may it be possible to add a new function that just changes the numerical prefix/suffix of selected files by an increment?

Example: Add +14 to selected files
old: file20062203-01 -> new: file 20062203-15
old: file20062203-02 -> new: file 20062203-16

It would be even better if there were equivalent options to section (9) available for this new function...
But I'd be happy if the simple add-funtion could be implemented.

Thanks in advance

Why not just combine the Autonumber box and the Removals box? Just remove and re-add the number.

Counting up numerals by specified increment

Postby KHL » Fri Mar 24, 2006 2:52 pm

Jim,

the attached screenshot hopefully explains my request for adding an increment to existing numerals.
http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/7738/bru0xp.jpg
I just want to add file 05a as 06 into the list of existing files, thus files 06...11 need to be renamed to 07...12.
Removing the last digit off 06...11 and adding the new suffix starting at 7 does not work sufficiently for files 09...11

Hope this explains my problem.
