Multible actions - one after the other

Hi Jim,

some times one want to do several actions of the same kind in one pass.
1.) RegEx search & replace
2.) another RegEx s&r
3.) RegEx s&r of the result from the first both actions.

Now i have an idea how to implement this in BRU.

1.) Option to enable this multi action feature (disabled by default) in the ini
2.) if enabled then we would see several tabs.
All with the same "Rules" as on the main window.
i.e. double the main window to several Tabbed windows.

On each tab we should have an checkbox to enable this tab
and include it this way into the rename process.
Every tab use the result of the action from the left tab as input.

So i would wrote f.ex. an RegEx in the first Tab (main window)
and an another RegEx on the second tab
and BRU should rename the files with the rules from the first tab
and then immediately rename this result with the rules from the second tab
and show this last result as "New name"
(Maybe provide an "log" how the renaming process was going step by step?)

Yes, you're right! This can mess up some ones files
if he is not carefully enough.
But let the user decide please.
He mustn't press the [Rename]-button before he check the result preview

Thanks
Stefan

Multiple renames is not somehting BRU is good at, and the screen layout doesn't help! However the command line version (BRC) allows precisely this, as you can list multiple commands.
