renaming cover art files

Postby al2011 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 6:35 pm

I have a music directory each artist folder contains album folders which contain the songs .. within the album directory with the songs are various jpg's for cover art i.e. front, back, cd .. these files are named artistalbum - front.jpg etc. I would like to rename the artistalbum - front.jpg to album.jpg in all folders. I hope I have explained this clear enough.

I don't know if this will work (i didn't need and i didn't try it myself)
but you can try (with copies of your real files!!!!!!) the following:

FROM:
artist\album\artistalbum - front.jpg
artist\album\artistalbum - back.jpg
TO:
artist\album\album - front.jpg
artist\album\album - back.jpg

Try:
something like
Selections(12): *.jpg, [X]Subfolders

- - - plus

RegEx(1)
Match: (.+)( - .+)
Repla: \2

to get:
artist\album\ - front.jpg
artist\album\ - back.jpg

- - - plus

Append Folder Name(9)
Name: Prefix

to get:
artist\album\album - front.jpg
artist\album\album - back.jpg

- - - HTH? :D
