Enclose Numbering in parentheses?

Postby ttcfcl » Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:01 pm

Is there an easier way to enclose numbering in parentheses? Like how Windows 7 does it if you choose multiple files and choose rename?

For example I want to do this

Florida_4-26-12 (01).jpg
Florida_4-26-12 (02).jpg
Florida_4-26-12 (03).jpg

etc. However, BRU does not let me place anything after the numbering, the best I can get is "Florida_4-26-12 (01.jpg" and then I have to select all the pictures again and add a ")" suffix. I would not like to have to do two separate Rename operations where it should only take one. Thank you!

Use "at [-1]" for Numbering(10)

And always post examples of current AND wanted file names.

I think this should do it:

e.g. the original files:
abc4534.jpg
df34g.jpg
thg346.jpg

1. remove all characters. Remove(5) first n = ?? until all characters disappear.

2. Add(7) Prefix "Florida_4-26-12 "

Florida_4-26-12 .jpg
Florida_4-26-12 .jpg
Florida_4-26-12 .jpg

3. Numbering(10) Suffix, Start 1, Pad 2, Sep. = "("

4. Rename

Florida_4-26-12 (01.jpg
Florida_4-26-12 (02.jpg
Florida_4-26-12 (03.jpg

5. after rename, add suffix ")" to all.

Florida_4-26-12 (01).jpg
Florida_4-26-12 (02).jpg
Florida_4-26-12 (03).jpg
