test file of import/rename pairs now works fine!

Works perfectly for me now --- I have no idea what I was doing wrong before!

Also recommend using Excel string functions (eg concatenate) for a simple way to generate rename pair lists.

Hello,

An awesome utility!
However, after many retries, the following test file of import/rename pairs still does not work for me and I am clueless as to why.

1.txt|A.txt
2.txt|B.txt
3.txt|C.txt
4.txt|D.txt
5.txt|E.txt
6.txt|F.txt
7.txt|G.txt
8.txt|H.txt
9.txt|I.txt

Thanks for any help!

What exactly did not work?
The syntax looks ok.
Have you select the files in NAME column to see what happens in NewName column?

Thanks, Stefan,

I have autoselect option checked so that's no problem.

This is what I see

And how looks your text file?

Do you have maybe any extra blanks around the names?
And... use notepad. Maybe you have saved your file as some kind of unicode with BOM? Perhaps.

None of the above, but seems to work fine for you.
I;m going brute force for now, but will keep experimenting.
Thanks.
