Postby Walli » Tue Apr 23, 2013 9:54 am

Hi,
i have perhaps 900 Directorys, thy all labeld like this

1999 - Burli - Sporfreunde Stiller
2001 - Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
1994 - Body Count - Body Count Ice T

This is fine when you know the year, when the Album is released ;-) but most time i search the band and a Album.
It ist possible to rename the directory to

Sporfreunde Stiller - Burli - 1999
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication -2001
Body Count Ice T - Body Count - 1994

Please help.

Thx
Walli

Re-order parts of name. Swap First to Last, Last to First.

"Dir rename" as subject in a renamer forum, where all is about renaming, is not that clever.
Always remember that others may want to search for the same or a similar problem and therefor read the subjects to find something.
So you for example can find many threads with "swap" in subject to solve your problem more quicker without waiting for my answer.

FROM:
1999 - Burli - Sporfreunde Stiller
2001 - Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
1994 - Body Count - Body Count Ice T

TO:
Sporfreunde Stiller - Burli - 1999
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication -2001
Body Count Ice T - Body Count - 1994

Rule:
- match till first hyphen, match till a hyphen, match the rest >> (.+?) - (.+) - (.+)
- replace with what was matched as third, then second, then first >>> \3 - \2 - \1

Use:
RegEx(1)
Match: "(.+?) - (.+) - (.+)"
Repla: "\3 - \2 - \1"

(without the quotes!!!)
