ID3 Tag "Extract" and 64-bit BRU

Postby Orinoco » Wed Aug 28, 2013 6:19 pm

Hi everyone,

Been using BRU for a long time, recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit and decided to go for the 64-bit BRU.

I've just been through and renamed a load of MP3s for which I didn't get complete tags from FreeDB. They're audio books and so I listened to the first few seconds of each track and renamed them to "<number> - Chapter x - Chapter Title" and I noticed that the existing ID3 tags were lost. After a while I remembered to select the "Extract" option from the menu and things then got weird. Seemingly randomly tags were still lost.

It was a long job [5 books each of 8 disks] and so I did it in stages, when I restarted BRU I checked the "Extract" option and the tick was still there. Sadly all tags were lost. Deselecting the option allowed the tags to remain but again randomly tags were lost. Thus I concluded that the option had not been saved in the config.

Has anyone else seen this..?

It was fresh install of BRU on a new build machine.

Spec's below in case it helps;

Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz

Re: Extract ID3 Tag with 64-bit

Sorry, unable to duplicate (v2.7.0.2, 32-bit)
Options / Extract / Checking-ID3 should work on-the-fly, & set Extract ID3 Data=1 in BRU.ini upon exit
I'd probably edit the line beforehand to verify functionality, hopefully some 64-bit users will have more input
