Q: How to rename folder name?

Postby tuningmania » Sun Jan 12, 2014 11:23 am

To "EVERYBODY",

Hi,

I need a little help. I read most of this forum, but can not find solution :(

I need to rename a lot of folders but something strange happened.

I have folders, named like this one:

"holiday_in_italy_10.10.2012_photos"

and I would like to rename this folder to:

"holiday_in_italy_10.10.2012_photo"

.. but the "Bulk Rename Utility" see ".2012_photos" like an extension may be and the function "Repl. (3)" do not work. Do not find word "photos" at all :( If I replace "10.10.2012" with "10102012" - it works perfect - find word "photos" and replace with word "photo".

Please, help me..

Q: How to rename folder name with dots? (folder extension)

Bulk Rename Utility.chm

Options Menu

Ignore... > Folder Extensions

With this option selected, any "extensions" within folder names will be ignored - this is because extensions have no real meaning, unlike filename extensions which identify the file type.
So for example, if you have a folder called "Holidays.2004". and you choose to remove the last 2 characters, the resulting folder name will be "Holidays.20" or "Holida.2004",
depending upon the status of this option.
