Rename from text file question

I have text file with following structure:

old name.ext|new name
old name.ext|new name
old name.ext|new name

Is it possible to rename files based on such txt and keep original extensions?

old name.ext|new name.oldext
old name.ext|new name.oldext
old name.ext|new name.oldext


I think, only with something like my Excel (or column pasting) trick, which you already know.

What happens with ARen? Still no success? Or did you just post everywhere for aid?
