Can't get MP3 tags to work

I've just downloaded and installed version 2.7.1.3 x64 on a Windows 7 system, and it looks like a fantastic utility. I've been trying to add MP3 tags to my filenames by entering %r, %l, %t or %t in the Prefix field of the "Add" section (7), but none of the associated tag values are being picked up. The MP3 files have been tagged and verified using Tag&Rename. I've probably made an obvious mistake, but can't think what it can be.

Can anyone suggest how I might diagnose this?

Many thanks

There's a hint in the help about that issue, and also mentioned a few times here at the forum.

Thanks for the helpful response. I'd already done a search for "mp3" on this forum, and it returned no results. I also read the help. I guess I must be stupid. Sorry to have troubled you.

You are right.

It seems you did it wrong.

If I search for 'mp3 tag' or 'ID3' I get for example

It's always a good idea to read the help which comes whit an application, as it mostly explains what you can do whit it and how, and also use different search terms. Maybe use g00gle as search engine for better results.

So a search for MP3 gives no results, but a search for "MP3 tag" gives results? Geez I am really stupid. It seems one of posters in your links had similar problems searching, so at least I am not alone.

I'm really sorry to have troubled you - the forums I usually visit are a little friendlier than this.
