Fixing duplicate extensions? Help.

Postby Mugsy » Sat Dec 27, 2014 4:55 pm

I converted a bunch of ".wav" files to another format and the output files all end in "*.wav.ogg".

I can't figure out how to remove the superfluous ".wav" from the filenames using BRU. It just sees it all as one long extension. :(

Wow, that's a coincidence. I downloaded BRU this morning and was happily renaming a bunch of files I had put off for a while. I then ran into a "duplicate extension" on quite a few and, like you, could not figure out how to rename them. I registered here and immediately saw your post from a few days ago. So, although I have no solution for you, I am adding my voice to your distress call. A side note: I see your username is "Mugsy" which is another coincidence; that was my nickname for a short while back in the 60's in SF.

Remove duplicate extensions

Postby Stefan » Sat Jan 03, 2015 10:37 pm

FROM:
Test.1st.2nd
TO:
Test.2nd

Explanation:
'.1st' is just a part of the file NAME. (because there can be only ONE extension on the whole file name)
To remove it...

USE:
Repl.(3)
Replace: .1st
With:
