Mystery
For me [ date taken extract ] finds some thread, e.g.:
http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2302&p=5974&hilit=
date+taken+extract#p5974
Options / Extract / ExifData
Then restart or refresh-filenames
See the Taken-column to see the Exif's DateTaken
Also, searching for [ taken ] the BRU help yield me:
Options Menu > Extract Exif Data
Use this option to say whether or not EXIF tags will be extracted from photographs.
At present only Date Taken, Aperture, Exposure, Focal Length, Exposure Compensation and Comments are extracted, but even this can slow down the processing a lot.
If you don't need these fields then leave this option un-ticked to speed up the processing.
Only files with the following extensions are processed: .JPG, .JPEG, .TIF, .TIFF, .CRW, .CR2, .NEF.
And googling for [ bru date taken extract ] give me also some results.
