Bulk Rename Utility

Until now I didn't get any answers to my e-mails to BRU to this problem and I didn't find a solution to the problem on this forum either.

1. The install versions of BRU (both 32 and 64 bits) do not work on Windows 7 64 bits - the program stops working as soon as soon as I click a folder to work on.
2. Same problem with the portable 64 bits version.
3. Only the portable 32 bits version works OK.

Is there anybody who can point me to the solution please ?

Hi,

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits English.

There is only 1 of the 4 versions of Bulk Rename Utility build 2713 that works here : Portable version 32 bits (on the 64 bits OS)

Install verions : both 32 and 64 bits do not work.
Portable version 64 bits does not work either.
These 3 versions start OK but as soon as I select a disk or a folder I get the the error message " BRU stopped working" and the program quits.

Hi, we can't recreate this issue, sorry. It works on all of our computers, including on latest Windows 10 64-bit.

I'm having a similar problem. I'm running Windows 10 x64 with the installed 64-bit version of BRU. The program runs, and I can usually navigate down one folder level, but after that the program freezes and reports not responding. I haven't yet tried the portable 32-bit version. Is there any information I can supply to help investigate the issue?

Edit: Perhaps I spoke too soon. It took quite a while (several minutes), but the program eventually became responsive and let me navigate deeper.

Hello, which folder / location took so long to scan? Do you have subfolder inclusion activated? thanks

It was a drive mapped to my NAS via Samba. I'm not sure where to check for the subfolder inclusion option.

w10x64 installerx64
I tried to install the latest x64 installer-version (with admin privilileges) unsuccessfully.
After that I uninstalled BRU using uninstaller via CCleaner and installed the 32bit installer with admin privileges and it just worked.
I hibernate a lot and I use QTTabBar both of which cause me frequent issues and thus always are prime suspects when something doesn't work.
