Renaming From A Text File via Import Rename-Pairs under Acti

Postby dealmein923 » Thu Apr 07, 2016 6:49 pm

I am trying to rename a text file via Import Rename-Pairs under Actions (Tool bar command)
The 'new name' column is picking up the original .mp4 file names only which render to the left
of the 'pipe symbol' (|). The designated new file name to the right of the pipe symbol does not render.
Here is a screenshot showing the 'new name' column...

Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thank You!

Here is a sample of a .txt file I am importing.
1.mp4|Roof-Repair-In-Keyword Keyword-Roof-Repair.mp4
2.mp4|Roofing-In-Keyword Keyword-Roofing.mp4
3.mp4|Roofer-In-Keyword Keyword-Roofer.mp4
4.mp4|Roof-Contractor-Keyword Keyword-Roof-Contractor.mp4
5.mp4|Roofing-Keyword Keyword-Roofing.mp4
6.mp4|Residential-Roofing-Keyword Keyword-Residential-Roofing.mp4
7.mp4|Residential-Roof-Keyword Keyword-Residential-Roof.mp4
8.mp4|Roofing-Contractors-Keyword Keyword-Roofing-Contractors.mp4
9.mp4|Roofer-Keyword Keyword-Roofer.mp4
10.mp4|Keyword-Roofing Roofing-Keyword.mp4

I figured out how to batch rename files via the 'pipe' file method.

1. Select the 'New Name' column
2. Use keyboard shortcut - 'CTRL/A'

This action will 'highlight' all file names and will
IMMEDIATELY cause the designated 'New File Names' to accurately
render in the 'New File Name' column at the top of the user interface.

3. The Copy/Move to Location is extremely useful
to set the path of the newly named files. Works perfectly.

4. Select Rename and OK..

Files are now renamed perfectly via this batch rename method.

I suggest to the developer that these instructions
be added to P.29 of the PDF Guide.

And, I would like to thank the developer of this fine utility as well.
