Can this be done?

Postby DarkRose » Thu Jul 05, 2007 5:13 pm

I have a camera that takes both pictures and videos. I'm using picasa to modify and organize media images. My camera automatically generates both a still and the video with the same number

1.jpg 1.mov 2.jpg 3.jpg 3.mov

When I use picasa to rename I get

1.jpg 1.mov 2.jpg 3.jpg 2.mov

However if I use bulkrenamer I get

1.jpg 2.mov 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.mov

Is there any way I can get the renamer to group my movies with the matching picture as in the format my camera uses?

again that's

1.jpg 1.mov 2.jpg 3.jpg 3.mov

Thanks :)

High,

Difficult to say, without knowing the criteria you are using to rename the files! Which options are you ticking? Are you using the Autonumber feature?

I am using the auto number mode with a pad of three 0s I am also using custom autodate of (in this case) May 2007

The auto number is added as a suffix.

Does that help?

Ok I see. I'm not sure if BRU can help you - there's an option to reset the numbering on a "break", but you need to do the opposite - only increment the number when the extension changes. BRU doesn't have much logic for filename extensions unfortunately.
