BRU doesn't remember Subfolders setting

No matter how many times I save the settings with Subfolders checked, it never remembers it when launching via right-click in File Explorer. I don't understand why it works when launching from the desktop icon but not from the File Explorer where I need it to rename files.

Might you have BRU both installed & also portable?
You've made the change in portable, but not in the installed ... ?

No, only the installed version. It doesn't remember the Subfolders selection when right-clicking from File Explorer.

I guess from the lack of answers that this defect is either unsolvable or intentional. If it's intentional there should be an option to select subdirectories when launching from File Explorer.
If there is an option I missed, I'm sorry and please post how to change it.
