NEWBIE NEEDS HELP WITH BULK RENAMING OF FOLDERS

Yes, I know I messed up with my folder naming conventions........ :
I have numerous daily folders containing numerous files. When I set up the folder naming conventions I used 'mm-dd-yyyy'. Obviously did not think this out very well & when 2018 came, I saw the error of my ways when I tried to sort the folders in ascending or descending order.
I would like to change the folder names from 'mm-dd-yyyy' to 'yyyy-mm-dd' (please note, the single ' is not part of the file name). Have seen examples on the forum & reviewed the manual. I've selected a folder or two (they are highlighted), tried keying in the data to the Window's interface from the example & I have failed miserably.
I have daily folders that go back to April of 2017, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
