Picture Viewer not working for Images in Mapped Drives

Im not sure if this is a bug or its just how the app is but when Im trying to do a rename on image files that are located on a mapped drive, the image viewer wont display the image.

It just says "No Picture!" in the title bar of the picture viewer window.

Am I just S.O.L. or is this something I can fix.

After moving images over to my local drive I realized its not images on a mapped drive that aren't showing but it seems that for what ever reason some jpgs show and others dont.

Is there a solution to this?
