How can I permanently hide the tree pane ?

I will use Bulk Renamer only by Drag & Drop of files.
So I don't need the Tree pane on the left.

How can I permanently hide this part?

Hello, Peter:
You can go to "Menu --> Actions --> Show/Hide Tree (F11)", but, as you probably already know (since you're saying "permanently") the tree pane will be visible again the next time you open BRU.
The only alternative I know of is that you take the line that separates the left and right panes and drag it all the way to te left; it will keep it's position on the next startup.

Hmm, is there really no way to hide it ALWAYS (read: when I exit and re-open BRU again) ?

I would suggest to include an option for this in the next release
