Bulk Rename Utility

Hello,

I'm renaming groups of files (about 50 or so at a time) that I cull from Vista searches by dragging and dropping them into BRU; however, after I drop the files, there is a delay of up to a minute or so while BRU scans the folder the files are in (there can be a couple thousand files in each folder). Is there a way to bypass this process, and make BRU work solely on the files I've selected without worrying about what else is in folder they're in?

Unfortunately BRU is geared towards processing folders rather than individual files, so the whole logic is folder-driven. The drag and drop of files feature was bolted on at a later date, and the coding isn't easy to change. If I had the time then I'd be rewriting BRU from scratch to take this, and other factors, into account. But sadly I don't have that time, too many other things on the go.
