Clear 'File Window' - How?

How do I clear files/folders out of the 'file list' window?

When I start BRU (the portable version), the 'Documents' folder is pre-selected. When I drag/drop files/folders in that window they are added. I know I can de-select, but that is not too safe. I prefer to not have any extra folders. How can I clear unwanted folders?

Just change to a different folder (left hand side) then change back.

Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't seem to work. When I select any folder it lists the content. When I go back to the default start setting, My Computer, I get 'My Documents' again. I have to hunt for an empty folder, for this tip to work. Not very efficient to have empty folders around for this purpose.
I tried the ctrl-drag trick, it clears what's there before, but works only on folders, not on selected individual files

I wonder if this is OS related, because at work (XP-Pro) I didn't notice this, but did not specically look for it either. At home I use XP-Home.
