Import Rename-Pair Not Working

Postby rbond » Thu Mar 26, 2009 7:21 pm

Hello,

I have a text file defining the rename-pairs as follows:

2S3_Back_1000.avi|01_file.avi
2S3_Back_1500.avi|02_file.avi
2S3_Back_2000.avi|03_file.avi
2S3_Back_2500.avi|04_file.avi

When I select the above text file (File=>Import Rename-Pair) nothing happens. The Help file indicates the New Name column should reflect the new names (e.g., "01_file.avi") in the Rename-pair file, but it does not. The Rename function is grayed out.

Any suggestions? I am running Windows XP SP3.

FYI, I tried the Import Rename-Pair operation on another machine using the 64-bit Vista version of the BRU program, and get the same behavior (new files names not shown in New Name column of BRU and Rename function grayed-out).

Has anyone has got this to work recently? I am using the most recent version of BRU, including 2.7.1.1 of the 64-bit version.

Thanks!

Hi, Rob:
Make sure you're selecting the files after importing the list:

1. Import the list ("File > Import Rename-Pair").
2. Select the files you want to rename (or just press CTRL+A to select them all. Alternatively, use the menu "Actions > Select All").

Now you should be able to rename them.
Cheers,

Gabriel.

Gabriel,

That was it! Thanks so much.

I suppose the BRU Help file could be updated to better reflect this fact.
