rename sub folders

Postby michael-net » Sat Nov 26, 2005 7:52 pm

Hi, im new to this program. Been looking through the help file but not had any success. Im glad this forum exists, hope someone can help.

Right, down to business. If ive got this folder structure:

test folder
folder 1
sub folder 1
sub folder 2
folder 2
sub folder 1
sub folder 2
...

I want to rename "sub folder 1" to "SubFolder 1" for example. If i browse to the folder above test folder and highlight test folder in the window. With these options set:

Repl. (3)
Replace sub folder 1
With SubFolder1

Then i click Rename. It doesnt seem to look at the subfolders. Is there a way to get it to do this?

regards

Sure, just tick the "Recursive" box.

I'm new to BRU and can't find where the "recursive check box" is. I've read the entire user manual and don't see any photos actually showing where this check box is.

I think I'm trying to do what the OP wants to do.

My structure is like this:

Code: Select all
Florida
   FL, 2008
      FL, 2008-Disney
      FL, 2008-Road Trip
   FL, 2009
      FL, 2009-Orlando at Night

I basically want to select "Florida" have have it remove "FL, " from all the folders below that. It works if I go into each folder select the folders individually, but I'm missing how to get it to recurse down through the additional folders. Thanks!

Hi, Skippermark:
This is what you should do:

1. On the right pane (folder tree) select the "Florida" folder.
2. In Selections (12), check ONLY "Folders" and "Subfolders".
3. Set Repl. (3) as follows:

Replace: FL, <------ (There's a space after the comma)
With: (nothing, leave it empty)

4. Select the folders by pressing CTRL+A or via the "Actions > Select All" menu.
5. Press "Rename".

Cheers,

Gabriel.
