Renaming in cmd

Postby Oldvid » Tue Oct 21, 2014 11:28 am

Hi,

first of all, i love the program, made my life alot easier!

I have been using Bulk Rename Utility for quiet some time and its working great. To make my life even easier i would like to make a scheduled job for renaming files at certain times using the Command version.

However im am really bad with DOS and DOS related things. So i would like to ask for some help on how to specify directory's.

I am not sure where to install the program either, does it need to be on the same station?

What i would like to do is check a folder on network drive G:\ for files longer then 15 letters. If thats the case i want to cut off the first 5 letters of the filename. My BRC_Unicode_32 is currently installed under C:\Users\Oldvid\.

Hopefully someone here can help me get started!
