Date incorrectly added

Postby PBandJSandwich » Fri Jul 27, 2007 3:48 pm

I have been trying to rename a log file every night to get nice neat dated copies except I have been having problems with the date that is applied to the file. It always seems to be incorrect. I run this at 11:55pm and the date on the file always comes out for the following day. The syntax I used is as follows:

BRC32.exe /DIR:"c:\LogTemp\" /PATTERN:"FILENAME.txt" /APPENDDATE:C:P:::4 /EXECUTE

If I am missing something any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Hi,

My guess is that this is a timing issue. Your job is running close to midnight, and there has been a problem with the handling of Daylight Savings Time in BRC.

Please download the latest version (uploaded today) and try it with that.

Ok.

Suggest you try running the new .EXE on last night's file, but without the /EXECUTE switch. Then you can see the new name that would be assigned.
