Bulk rename command - ordering files

Postby danabu » Tue Aug 14, 2007 2:50 pm

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to sequentially rename the files in a directory, starting with the newest file to the oldest file. But I couldn't find any switch in the command line that would allow me to tell BCP32 in what order to process the files - is this possible?

Thanks!

Hi,

No it's not possible in the current version of BRC. I will be adding this functionality in the next release, but in the meantime you'd be better to use Bulk Rename Utility.

ETA for next version?

Thanks for the amazingly quick reply! Do you have an ETA for the next release? Not trying to pressure you at all, just want to decide if I should wait or look for another method.

Yes...in about 15 minutes time :-)

It should be on the site later today, I'm just testing it.
