Just for fun I tried it on my D: drive, ticking the Files, Folders and Subfolders boxes on the Filter. Same version of Windows 10 Pro, 1903, and same BRU, 3.2.0.1.
It took several minutes to display the list of files as there were 208,000 of them, but it didn't crash.
I suggest you check the drive is not corrupt. In File Explorer: Click on drive, Properties/Tools/Check.
Also run CrystalDiskInfo to check the drive isn't dying - view the SMART data held in the drive.
