Rename MP3 Title tag

Postby bc123 » Sat Jan 09, 2010 4:09 pm

Hi. First off thanks for this utility, it is terrific!

One thing I would like to be able to do is not rename the file but rename the Title Tag of an MP3. Right now I have groups of audio CD's in different folders with Title tags (and file names) like:

CD1/
Track 1
Track 2
etc.

CD2/
Track 1
Track 2
etc.

What I would like to be able to do is at a directory at at time (CD1, then CD2 etc) rename the MP3 title tage as such:

CD1/
CD1-Track 1
CD1-Track 2
etc.

CD2/
CD2-Track 1
CD2-Track 2
etc.

Then when I use my burning program I can just sort the entire list of multiple CD files at once so there are in the order:

CD1-Track 1
CD1-Track 2
CD2-Track 1
CD2-Track 2

I have a lot of tracks I'm trying to combine onto single CD's and this would save me a great deal of time if it's possible.

Thanks for your consideration and have a great day.

BRU renames the file names. That's what you can see in WinExplorer.
To modify the tag inside of the file you have to use for MP3-Tags an ID3 tagger,
see here for an list of freeware taggers: http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwmp3.html

Thanks Stefan. I ended up using http://www.mymusictools.com/music_management_3/mp3tag_pro_26668.htm and it worked perfectly.

Have a great day.
