[Solved] No Log File

Postby Anon » Mon Sep 11, 2017 6:17 am

Bulk Rename Utility version 3.0.0.1
Windows 7, 64-bit
Running as administrator
Activity Log enabled

For some reason it's not creating the log file. I need to see the files' old and new name when I change them. Any idea what I'm doing wrong or is this a known bug?

Where are you looking for it?

Help says:
Log Activity (Ctrl+L)

Use this option to record a log of all your renaming activity (including undo requests). The log file will be created in the same folder as the Bulk Rename Utility executable file, and will have the same name as the EXE but with a .log suffix. Please note that only renaming activity is logged, not changes to attributes or timestamps.

But I'm seeing it (BRU 3001, XP) in, "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\Bulk Rename Utility\Bulk Rename Utility.log".

Oh dang, it is there!

The help says it would be in the same folder as the bru exe so I was looking there.

Thanks man!

We need to change/clarify the help file, because the log ca't be created in the same folder as the Bulk Rename Utility executable file, unless you are running BRU with full admin right as administrator.
