Add file MODIFIED DATE in the format "_DDMMYYYY" at the end

Postby dpenney_1955 » Fri May 31, 2024 5:59 am

BRU version: 3.4.4.0

Hi,
I need some assistance with configuring Bulk Rename Utility to append the file's MODIFIED DATE in the format "_DDMMYYYY" to the end of the actual filename, but directly before the file extension (*.ext).
For example, if a file is named "This is my Filename.pdf" and the modified date is 17th March 2024, I want the filename to be changed to "This is my Filename_17032024.pdf". I have tried using the "Add (7)" and "Auto Date (8)" sections, but I couldn't find the exact options needed to insert the exact format date before the extension correctly. . Could someone guide me through the exact steps or settings required to achieve this specific renaming format? Thank you!
Cheers

Suffix Modified-Date as _DDMMYYYY

The AutoDate(8) section can use settings like...
Mode==Suffix
Type==Modified(Current)
Fmt==Custom
Custom==_%d%m%Y

Hi, and thanks for your input.

However, that is similar to one of my many attempts, and got the same answer...this method gives me, "This is my Filename.pdf17032024"

And what I am trying to achieve is "This is my Filename_17032024.pdf"

If not wanting to edit extensions, should remove the checkmark from "Renaming Options, File/Folder Extensions, Rename File Extensions"
