How to rename folder & file names across an entire drive?

I have 1,000s of image files saved in multiple formats (jpg, tif, raw, psd, etc). They are scattered throughout my computer. Some are at the top of the folder/subfolder "tree". Others are buried at varying depths within the "tree". Some are not in "tree" at all. Is there a way to search an entire drive and change selected file/folder names, no matter how shallow or deeply they are embedded . . . without having to select each & every folder & subfolder on the drive? I have software that will find folder & file names containing the literals that I want to change.

In other words, change the folder and/or filename anywhere on the drive whenever either or both match the criteria

Examples;
change ABC to CBA (anywhere on D drive)

D:/ABC.jpg

D:/ABCxyz.jpg

D:/Folder1/ABCxyz.jpg

D:/Folder1/Subfolder1/ABCxyz.jpg

D:/Folder1/Subfolder2/ABCxyz.jpg

D:/Folder1/Subfolder2/Subfolder3/ABC.jpg

D:/XYZ/abc.tif

I hate to be so dumb, but . . .
I've searched my entire D drive for "foxglove(digitalis)" & found 19 files scattered across the drive.

When I try to rename foxglove(digitalis) to Foxglove (with subfolders ticked). . . BRU (preview) tells me "There are no selected items that need renaming"

What do I need to select (change + to -) in left panel . . . Data(D)
or do I have to change every + under Data(D) to - ?
or do I just highlight Data(D)

I can manually rename a few files/folders, but that would take forever for 100s.

When BRU says there's 'no selected items' to rename, it comes from using the menu "Actions, Rename".
And he's talking about the "Name" column inside the right-pane, not the folder-tree inside the left-pane.

So you can either manually select anything to be renamed, or also just Ctrl+A to select everything.
Most users just put the checkmark for "Actions, List, Auto-Select All Items", so then its always automatic.
You can also just click the Rename-button (bottom-right), which only activates if there's something to rename.
