Move Text

Postby mamaijee » Mon Aug 31, 2026 2:29 pm

I want to rename my ebooks in Win Explorer eg

Emm Darcy - I Fing Dare You (All the Games We Play 1) to read as

Emm Darcy - [All the Games We Play 1] - I Fing Dare You

I know how to change "(" to [ and ")" to ] to show after the first hyphen

But how do I move the wording "All the Games We Play 1" to show in the []

Thank u

RegEx (1)

Match:
(.+?) - (.+?) \((.+)\)

Replace:
\1 - [\3] - \2

Did you already change the brackets? If so, the match is:

(.+?) - (.+?) \[(.+)\]

No I have not changed brackets.

I have a print screen image of my BRU page where I am trying to do this but I dont know how to add it to this message :(

As u can tell I not a savvy BRU user . I have used BRU for years now but simple things. Use of Regex is beyond me

In 1:RegEx, ensure that 'Simple' is not selected.

(Otherwise, with your above example it should be working.)

For images, you'll need to link (or hotlink) to the image hosted on an external site.

(heh. figures that postimages seems to be having issues... currently.)
