Not sure what to do with "Bulk rename selected items"

I select two folders, because I want to modify their contents.
I right-click on them
In the menu, I select: "Bulk rename selected items."
The folders open in Bulk Rename.
But, it only shows the folders selected.
I cannot figure out how to also show the folder's contents in order to rename.
How do I do this?

I think you might need to select each folder separately - or drag and drop them into BRU.
