Rename by CSV file, Keep original file extension?

Postby tlamming » Fri Nov 08, 2019 3:48 am

I have a huge list of files that I have to rename using a CSV file. I can almost accomplish what I need to do, but the names in the CSV file do not include the original file extensions, (its actually a description that I got from a metadata export) and if I use this method, the files get renamed correctly but lose the extensions. Is there a way to just rename the filename and not the extension using this method?

Example in the file: Column A 00025909.xls Column B Hvac at the central business park

(What I'd like to happen is that the file is renamed to Hvac at the central business park.xls)

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I would recommend that you add the extension to the target name using Excel (with a formula). We sent you an example, thanks
