Save Setup without file association

Postby connor.s.b » Fri Sep 16, 2022 11:13 pm

I have 3-4 Saved set ups that I use regularly. when I switch between them it kicks me out of my current file and goes back to the file where I originally saved my set up. Is there some setting that allows saved setups to not be associated with the file that they were originally created in?

Maybe ?

if in "Bulk Rename Utility.ini"
you changed the value of "Favourite Path" to ""

(i'd think you would have to do that manually, or in some automated fashion prior to opening BRU)

But then this too may very well come into play, File | Open filename.bru does not load Path.

Actually, not clear just how/where things are pulled from & how they intermingle.
You have .bru's & .ini & also some settings are in the Windows Registry?

Oh, & this too, How To un-Favorite a Favorite?

The whole thing is just, rather confusing.

SO this was my mistake from the Beginning.

If i had played around a bit more i would have found it but i just found my own answer...

Under File>Favourites there is an option to store pathname. If you uncheck this option then the when you load a new .BRU file it does not move the location you are currently in, in the file explorer.

Thank you to all how responded and tried to trouble shoot this for me!
