How to Rename Pairs where Input Image is used many times

Postby ShortGrass » Mon Jan 09, 2023 11:04 am

Hi Guys,

I am Using the Bulk Rename Facility to Rename a List of Images from

Old Name - to a > New Name.

I have successfully done this a Number of Times using the Actions - Pair - Upload CSV Operation by uploading a List of Images with 2 Columns. Old Code then New Code

However, I now have a Supplier who has 400 Part Codes/ SKUs

But He has only Supplied me with 70 Images.

In this suppliers case many Images are common and would be used on different Part Codes.

So Far the Bulk Rename Actions Pairs Routine is only Outputting one result for each Input File name. So I am only getting 70 Results when I need 400.

I was just wondering if there is a workaround for this?

Many thanks,

Michael Ireland

Re: How to Rename Pairs where Input Image is used many times

What if you did something like this (to make the copies of your source .jpg)?
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25293670/windows-batch-file-to-make-multiple-copies-of-a-single-file-with-each-copy-bein

for /l %A in (1,1,20) do copy ""Hole Saw Small.jpg" "118-%A.jpg"

That would give you something like:

118-1.jpg
118-2.jpg
118-3.jpg....

Then takes those files (& even though 20 of them are more then you need) in BRU

2:Name, Remove
10:Numbering
- Mode: Prefix
- Start: 118321
11:Extension -> Extra -> jpg

That would give you your Hole Saw Small.
Then do similar for the rest of your items?
(For the smaller number of items, Auger hex, might just want to do those by hand.)

No

There is only One Copy of Each Source Supplier Image File but they want me to use the Same Image on many different SKU's (400+ )

So I have 70 Source Files all in One Folder

You could also use just Windows to make copy of the file (windows adds - Copy (x) to the name) then use BRU to rename using CSV.
