Rename subfolders recursively

Bulk Rename Utility How-To's

Rename subfolders recursively

Postby jshook » Wed Oct 30, 2024 9:26 pm

Is there a way to search a directory recursively and rename all the subdirectories that meet certain criteria. For example, I have a folder with generic data called data inside there are a lot of folders and sub folders that have the word "certificates" in the folder name. I'd like to replace the word "certificates" in the folder name for all the subdirectories with the word "certs". Is this something Bulk Rename Utility can do? If so, how would I go about it?

Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Hi, use Filters (12) to recurse sub-folders and show only folders (no files), the select the folders to rename and replace 'certificates' with 'certs' in replace(3).
