Change format of date taken

Hi!

I want to change picture names to their date taken, however the format provided by bulk rename utility by default is not what i want (YYYYMMDD) any option to change this? Thank you!

Hi, yes, in Auto Date (8) , you can change the date format that is used for renaming.

Select Custom in 'Fmt' and set the date format how you want in the Custom field. For example:

%Y-%m-%d

%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S

Just a note of warning...

There is a difference on computers read and sort your date format. For example:

if you use a hyphen YYYY-mm-dd (2004-01-02)

that will sort different than if you use underscores YYYY_mm_dd (2004_01_02)

I prefer using underscores because I think it's easier to read.

SO, moving forward, choose ONE format method (hyphen OR underscore) but do not MIX them because the dates will sort differently.

I found this out the hard way....;(
