How-To remove doubled extensions?

Postby AverageJoeMN » Tue Mar 19, 2013 10:08 pm

Probably really simple but not looking obvious to me.

I've got a bunch of files with this: .JPG.jpg - so it looks like imagename.JPG.jpg. I need to correct them to imagename.jpg.

Help?

Thank you.

Hi, please use more meaningful subjects for your post. A "Very Simple Question" is really silly as forum topic.

FROM:
imagename.JPG.jpg

TO:
imagename.jpg

USE:
Repl.(3)
Replace: .jpg
With:

Let "With:" field empty. Meaning replacing with nothing, ==> removing it.

Since only the part after the last dot is taken as extension, the first '.JPG' is just a ordinary part of the file name and can be handled as everything.

Note:
If this removes both "extensions", then be sure "Options > Ignore... > File Extensions" is not enabled.
