IPTC Support

BRU is my go to program to help organize my files.

Lately I've been using it to add a unique CRC32 hash to the end of my photos
    {<(hash:crc32)>}
This gives me a unique ID for each file, but I would love to be able to also insert the hash into the file's IPTC metadata (such as the Supplier's Image ID) and populate other values as well. This way one can preserve context perchance the file names themselves are accidentally edited. One could also use BRN to rename/populate/append to other IPTC tags such as location data, Person Shown, keywords...

Also, how is the hash derived? Is it based on the contents of the file or the file name?

Thanks!

Hi, the hashes that BRU calculates are based on file content.
At the moment BRU does not change file metadata, only file names and timestamps / basic Windows attributes...
thanks
