I love Bulk Rename Utility and use it at least once per week, sometime several times per week.
I rave about BRU to my friends who use computers a lot or who have to deal with a lot of files.
It is a great way for anyone who wants to become a "power user" and needs to rename lots of files, but without have to learn to code.
However, most people are intimidated by the complexity. I was intimidated until I just grit my teeth and
It took me more than 2 or 3 tries to learn it. I turned away because of its complexity at least twice.
The application takes up a LOT of screen because it presents all functionality at once.
It would great if we could collapse seldom-used sections to move them out of the way.
A key design requirement for greater usability is to hide as much complexity as possible and only reveal it when it is called for. There are many ways to do this.
- Toolbar with Icons to Hide/Show Tools
- Accordion sections.
- Checkbox configuration panel.
