I've been using BRU for several years now, primarily using it to rename pics/videos from friends we travel with in order to create travel videos. Those with iPhones are particularly bothersome. I have a routine that let's me handle the still images OK...it's the MOV video files that just don't cooperate. None of the existing "types" in the "Auto Date (8)" section will read the REAL iPhone "Creation Date". By the time I actually get the files, they have usually been copied around from point to point so most of the time the date that comes up is the last "Copy" date.
But here's the rub; Using EXIFTOOL I can still see the ORIGINAL field called "Creation Date" 10 lines before the last data line shown. This is NOT the same as "Creation Curr." or 'Taken Orig." of which both of those fields have taken on one of the copy date/times. You would think that one or both of those fields would show the real iPhone created date...given how they are labelled.
Is there a way to get BRU to read that REAL field referenced within EXIFTOOL?
(I've just confirmed that the latest version 4 exhibits the same behavior...)
