Remove or replace a forward slash in folder name.

I'm in need of either removing or replacing a forward slash (/) in a folder name.
According to the help all I need to do is place the / in the replace box. It just doesn't work.
I can do it via Remove(5), using the "From" and "To" boxes.

Hi, can you do it via Remove (5) -> Chars , entering a / in there?

Hi, Sorry to say that's a No.

But ticking "Sym." does select it and all the dashes and brackets too. Which I would like to keep.

Thank You.

Given that a / is an illegal character in a file name in Windows,
are you sure it is a / & not some unicode character that looks
like a / ?

? ? ? or similar ?

If you were to copy that '/' character from your folder name (into windows clipboard),
then Paste that character into 3:Remove, Replace:, is that able to "see" the / ?

Now why oh why did I not think of that?
Silly me, of course that works.
Thanks very much.

That's really annoying, that's something I do nearly every day in mp3tag.
You probably heard my head hit the desk!
So sorry to have troubled you.
I'll get my hat...

Several Unicode characters resemble a forward slash, including the Solidus (/, U+002F), which is the standard slash, the Fraction Slash (U+2044), used for fractions, and the Division Slash (U+2215). There are also less common versions like the Set Minus (U+2216), which can be confused with a backslash, and other more stylized versions for specific context.
- U+002F = (Solidus)
- U+2044 = (Fraction Slash)
- U+2215 = (Division Slash)
- U+2216 = (Set/backslash-like)
- U+29F8 = (Big Solidus)
- U+FF0F = (Fullwidth Solidus)
- U+FE68 = (Small Solidus)

You can remove them with Remove (5) -> Chars
- If you only need a few visible characters and they are easy to type/copy, open Remove (5) -> Chars and paste the literal characters you want removed.
- Note: Remove (5) Chars also supports conditions like >ÿ to remove characters above a range, but that is blunt and may remove more than you want.
