Not allowing me to re-number existing filenames

Postby mwidunn » Fri Dec 26, 2025 6:36 pm

I'm having trouble trying to re-number some filenames.

The names are numbered: 9-20. However, I would like to increase that by 2, so that they would be numbered as: 11-22. The number is appended as a suffix.

However, BRU keeps applying a _1 after each number for the filename. I understand that this is to prevent duplication. However, I don't understand why, since each filename is being re-numbered and, hence, re-named. So, there should be no duplication.

For example, File - 9 should be re-named as File - 11. And, File - 11 (original) should be re-named to File - 13 (different), etc. etc. I'm probably missing something in the logic, but I really don't see why there should be a problem.

Can anybody help with this?

Thanks.
