BRU stopped working after crash and refuses to work after re

I have never encounter such a problem.

BRU crashed then I get a dialog say to send to files to support 1) Bulk Rename Utility.rpt and 2) Bulk Rename Utility.dmp.

This crash repeatedly happens when i go to a specific folder. I go to other folders just fine.

I reinstalled the program on top of the previous install.

Not sure how to fix the problem.

Any tips?

What is the folder path/name?
Is it on a local drive?


More then likely, it is something in your, 'Bulk Rename Utility.ini' file.

Quit BRU.
Rename 'Bulk Rename Utility.ini' to 'Bulk Rename Utility.ini.NOT'

Restart BRU.


Now, just where is 'Bulk Rename Utility.ini'?
In my case, I use the ZIP version, so it is in the same directory as the program .exe itself.
The installer... unsure? Maybe it is in a place somewhere like %APPDATA% ?

In any case, once you rename the file, I'd think you should be able to start up.
(And then, you could compare the .NOT file to the newly created .ini, to see if you can see just what might have caused the issue.)
