Filename rename problem

Postby jperkow » Tue Jul 12, 2011 9:16 pm

I have the following filenames:

4-4-90-05.jpg
4-4-90-06.jpg
4-4-90-07.jpg
5-5-100-08.jpg
5-5-100-09.jpg

I want to rename them with the Bulk Rename Utility but not sure where to start.

I want the results to be:

4-4-90-1.jpg
4-4-90-2.jpg
4-4-90-3.jpg
5-5-100-1.jpg
5-5-100-2.jpg

Anything to get me going would be great. And thanks to anyone in advance who can shed light on this.

Thanks

Add an counter for an group of files with same base name

Postby Stefan » Wed Jul 13, 2011 6:57 am

If you can select the different groups:

First:
4-4-90-XX.jpg
Then:
5-5-100-XX.jpg

one after another,
then you can delete the last two digits (XX here) and then add an new counter.

Remove(5)
Last n :[2]

Numbering(10)
Mode: Suffix

Select a few files to see in NewName column what happens.
