Reduce the size of the large bar across the top?

There is a large bar across the top, just below the menu, which take a lot of screen space. It has the words "Bulk Rename Utility" and a logo on the right.
How do I reduce the space taken up by this? Even if it could just be reduced to half the height it would be much better.

In Preferences there is an option "Bulk Rename Utility logo on the main window" with the options Show or Hide.
I don't know if this refers to the large bar, but changing the setting to Hide doesn't seem to do anything?
