Hi Scott, welcome.

so a filename like: Windowshurts.jpg
is now listed as: s~#gpj.struhswodniW
there are obviously thousands of files like this.
Can Bulk REname Utility handle this problem to change these filenames back to what they should be? The files are fine - no changes - just the filenames.
If Not BRU, any other suggestions? Manually changing is out of the question.
I am afraid this is not an feature of BRU.
You can try this ==> http://www.den4b.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4752#p4752
Note:
* check out the "Settings >Filters"
* i don't know how this will work for an entire disk ! It's an good idea to backup the whole disk first!
* keep in mind that THIS forum is not an support forum of THAT application i suggested you. If you need more assistance on this come to the other forum.
* anyway, tell us if it works, and HOW. (How many file, folders, how many GBs are renamed? How long did this take?)
HTH?
Thanks to the Bulk Rename Utility responsible to let us help others in that way!
