numbering question

Postby tray » Mon Aug 16, 2010 10:24 pm

Sorry in advance, I am new here and can't figure this out, even though it's probably easy. I want to take a folder with photos and rename them to have the file name followed by 001, so Tracey 001, Tracey 002, Tracey 003, etc. How do I do this?
THANKS!

What are your current real file names? Post a few examples please.

If you want to get rid completely of the old name do this:

Test this with a few copies of your real files.
Add them into BRU.
Select the names in the Name column by pressing Ctrl+A to see the new names in the NewName column.

FROM:
DICM 012.jpg
TO:
Tracey 001.jpg
DO:
FIle(2) Remove
Add(7) Prefix "Tracey "
Numbering(10) Mode: Suffix, Start:1, Pad: 3

Hope i understood you right.

- - -
Instead of (2) AND (7) you can also use (2) alone with Fixed: "Tracey "

Hey, i had exactly the same problem as you and after many frustrating hours, and after reading your post, i finally worked it out - can't believe how simple it was. Now i can finish my slide show without having the images behaving badly in non sequencial order.
Thanks to you and BRU
