Sequential Bates Numbers Named As Folders

Postby jhajny » Sat Nov 06, 2010 2:20 am

I use BRU extensively in LitSupport, but one thing I cannot figure out is how (or if?) BRU can drill through subdirectories and name the TIF/JPG files as the parent folder, while incrementing +1.

Example:
ABC001\008.tif
ABC001\009.tif
ABC001\010.tif
ABC001\011.tif
ABC005\HEEK225447.tif
ABC005\HEEK225448.tif
ABC005\HEEK225449.tif

Should be:
ABC001\ABC001.tif
ABC001\ABC002.tif
ABC001\ABC003.tif
ABC001\ABC004.tif
ABC005\ABC005.tif
ABC005\ABC006.tif
ABC005\ABC007.tif

Is there any way to do this? I apologize, I have to plead ignorance. The folders can't simply be renamed and the TIFs named sequentially because there may be gaps in the numbers. Therefore, the numbering MUST start from the foldername. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's possible, look for autonumber in the help file.
